World Trade Center - Your Connection to the World

At our Winter meeting, the Utah Alliance had a great opportunity to hear from Derek Miller, President & CEO of the World Trade Center. The mission of the WTC is to help Utah companies think, act and succeed globally. Between the WTC and the International office at GOED, a Utah company has most of the resources they need to begin or enhance their international presence. WTC provides resources to Utah companies which includes:

  • Hosting Diplomatic visitors
  • Leading Trade Missions -  2016 missions to Mexico and Canada
  • Providing Export news and reports
  • Training
  • Providing a network of other resources including a Foreign Trade Zone

What happens in the world directly impacts us here in Utah. Our economy is directly linked to foreign countries. Exports from Utah total more than $13 billion and create 95,000 jobs. Derek's presentation is linked below.

Utah Number 1 Again on Pollina Ranking

In 2005, Utah ranked 23rd in the Pollina/AEDI report. By 2012, the state took the top spot as the No. 1 Pro-Business State in America. That’s a 22-place jump in seven years and—what’s more—Utah’s stayed No. 1 since.
